Welcome to the web site for Marshalltown High School class of 1998.  If you were part of MHS' class of 1998 please take the time to submit your contact information which will allow us to keep you up to date on any events relating to our class, including reunion information.  For more information you can contact us.

Currently we have had 15692 classmates out of approximately 365 submit their current contact info.  Our goal is to get in contact with everyone.  If you see someone's name on the missing class members page please talk to them and have them visit the web site and fill in their information.

News

I know this message is reaching most of you a little late but I wanted to make sure some of you had time to sober up after the reunion, because let's face it most of you had way too much to drink those nights! In all seriousness we want to thank everyone that made it to the reunion. It took many months of planning and it is good to know that it turned out well. This e-mail is to answer some questions that you may have about the reunion, future class activities as well as some things you may or may not care about.

Class Web Site

First of all the class web site http://www.mhsclassof1998.com will remain available as the main source for information about reunions, general class information and news. If there is anything that you would like to see added please let us know and we will try our best to get it added.

Class Mailing List

We have established a mailing list for our class that will go to everyone that has registered on the web site. To send an e-mail to the list you can simply send a message to alums@mhsclassof1998.com  So to make sure you stay up to date please be sure you keep your information current on the web site. You can update your info on the web site anytime on this page: http://www.mhsclassof1998.com/update.php

Contacting Classmates

We have set up a special section of the web site so you can get anyone’s contact information you are looking for. Just go to the classmates page ( http://www.mhsclassof1998.com/classmates.php ) and click the classmate login link at the top or bottom of the page.  On the next page you will need the general password which will allow you to view all of the information not available on everyone's public profile.  If you don't know the general password, then you can use the contact form and we will send it to you.

Next Reunion

We would like to know when you would like to have the next reunion and also what you would like to do for it. We had talked about having an informal get together on one night for our 15 year reunion. If you have any suggestions let us know or consider the next point...

10 Year Reunion

The reunion seemed to be a success. Let us know what you thought or if you think we should have done something differently.  We also managed to raise about $1300 above the costs of the reunion.  We have set it aside so we can use it for the next reunion to help cover the costs.

10 Year Reunion & High School Photos

We also would like to see any pictures you have from the reunion or from high school. You can put them on the web site by going to http://www.mhsclassof1998.com/gallery/ and clicking the register link in the top right corner.  Once you have registered you will receive an e-mail with a link to activate your account.  Once you follow the link and activate your account you can add photos.  You will need to login with the username password you created and then click the add album link on the left side.  Once you create the album then you can start adding images to it.  If you have any problems with it be sure to let us know.

Friday Night Barbeque and Riverview Park Flooding Info

Due to flooding at Riverview Park the location for the Iowa State BBQ Championship has been moved to the Iowa International Speedway (Go Kart) track at 2002 East Anson Street in Marshalltown.  We are still going to have our tent and the event is going to carry on like normal.  For those of you that don’t know where it is at here is a link to the map:

Registration Winner Announced

Congratulations to Megan Hoksbergen (Atchison)!  She is the winner of the registration prize and will be receiving an all expenses paid trip to Marshalltown, Iowa!  Actually just no cost to attend the reunion, but who's counting?

Registration Prize Announced

Thank you to everyone who has registered for the reunion!  We are going to be holding a drawing to give away the cost of attending the Friday and Saturday night events for two people (a $60 value)!  To be entered in the drawing all you need to do is register on the web site before June 9th and be sure that your payment is received by June 16th.  For those of you that have already registered you are already entered in the drawing.  To register please visit the registration page.

We posted a page for missing class members, which simply means we have not been in contact with them to let them know about the upcoming reunion.  Check out the list and if you see anyone you know talk to them and have them come to this web site and submit their info.  Our goal is to reach every class member!

At the last meeting we determined the location for the golf tournament was going to be the American Legion Public Course.  Also we reserved the American Legion for dinner on Saturday night.  We are currently working on getting estimated number of attendees for each event so we can determine the prices per person for each event.  Once the prices are determined we will be offering online registration & payment for each event.

Next Reunion Committee Meeting Feb. 2nd

The next committee meeting is scheduled for Saturday February 2nd at 5:00 p.m. at Tonic in Ankeny (2785 N. Ankeny Blvd Ankeny, IA).  Anyone interested in helping out with the reunion are welcome to attend.

1st Reunion Committee Meeting

We had the first committee meeting on Sunday January 20th.  A lot was accomplished including setting the dates for the 10 year reunion, which are June 27th & 28th 2008.  For more information on activities planned please see the Itinerary page.  The main thing we need help with currently is getting current contact information for all of our classmates.  So if you were part of the class of '98 please submit your information!
